Speaking
An engaging speaker, Mary Lou Fallis expresses her own inimitable take on the world of music. Her two most popular presentations "Being a Primadonna in Canada is a Contradiction in Terms" and "Humour and Music" are her recent topics, although she has prepared specialized addresses, for groups as diverse as the National Association of Teachers of Singing (Teaching High Notes) and the Medical Faculty of the University of Western Ontario (TB or Not TB? That is Operative Question) She and her partner in crime-Peter Tiefenbach have also written songs that are tailor-made for special occasions: Doris Anderson's 80th Birthday, A David Crombie Salute, A Sheila Copps Roast, The American Herb Society's International Conference, and last April, HRH Prince Andrew's visit to the York Club,. Mary Lou has been a keynote speaker at The Ontario Librarians Annual Conference, The Womens Canadian Clubs of Hamilton, London and Toronto, the Empire Club, the Ontario Registered Music Teachers Association and The Western Canada Opera Club in Vancouver as well as Festival 500 in St. John's Newfoundland. She has also acted as host for any number of award ceremonies and celebratory evenings, including the Toronto Arts Awards, The Rubies and The Doras.
